A Classic Still Going Strong; The Muck Boot Hoser
Being asked to take a look at and write about a boot from the Muck Boot Company, the Hoser Classic Work Boot, I was hesitant. I’ve written about literally hundreds of different styles and makes of boots and I figured this was going to be just an average write up. I was also revealed that this was by no means a new line of boots but rather an old one, that’s been around for a decade.
After my Hoser boots arrived, I was immediately impressed at the quality of the boots. The way the sole and the upper were actually molded and blended together looked fantastic. Then there was the nylon upper part of the boot, or the part that fits snug, not tight, just above your ankle.
Now I was told that the Muck Boot Company has redesigned this boot into the Chore and made some revisions and some modifications, but that since it was so popular, people wanted to continue buying it even though there was a newer version. This is real customer loyalty. It reminds me of when Coke changed their formula to compete with Pepsi and people made such a fuss that they had to offer the classic also. This isn’t quite the media buzz that Coke generated, but it is rather impressive.
After walking around in these boots for about a half an hour, I was pleasantly surprised that there were no pinch points, or nothing that was going to hurt or blister after I took them off. I guess it’s because they are so flexible to begin with, there really is no break-in period for them. My initial thoughts about reviewing these line of Muck Boots were changed after spending some time with them, I really do like them. I don’t want to have to wear anything else.
